We Made It to Hong Kong! 🇭🇰
Team V Art had been invited to Hong Kong for our first-ever studio TV interview, as featured guests on ViuTV. Not just to represent ourselves, but to speak on behalf of Malaysian emcees on an international platform.
For us, this wasn’t just an interview. It was a milestone moment, one filled with emotion, pride, and purpose.

An Invitation That Meant More Than Words
It started with a simple message: Sylvia from ViuTV wanted to feature us.
At first, we were excited.
Then we found out: the entire interview would be conducted in Cantonese. For a team based in Malaysia, where English, Mandarin, and Malay dominate most stages, this posed a challenge. While some of us had exposure to Cantonese, none of us were fluent speakers.
But here’s the thing:
I’ve always believed that when you show up with heart, your message will be heard, no matter the language.
So we said YES!

Behind the Scenes at ViuTV
Stepping into the ViuTV studio was surreal.
Professional camera setups. Multiple crew members. Studio lights. Floor markers. Clipboards. Everything moved with precision.
We were greeted by Sylvia, the emcee and producer, who welcomed us with warmth and gave us a full briefing. Then came the mics, the camera checks, the run-throughs.
The air was charged with excitement, and a bit of nervous energy.
We’re used to holding the mic, guiding, hosting, leading.
But this time, the spotlight was on us.
For a moment, we weren’t just emcees.
We were storytellers, representatives, and voices from Malaysia about to be heard on a Hong Kong platform.
Speaking Cantonese on Camera: Connection Over Perfection
The entire interview was in Cantonese, a language less familiar to us.
But that didn’t hold us back. Each of us leaned into vulnerability, sincerity, and connection over perfection. We shared stories of how we became emcees, talked about the passion that drives us, the energy we bring to the stage, and why we believe so strongly in what we do.
We stumbled a little. We laughed at ourselves.
And through it all, we connected.

A Leader’s Perspective: Watching the Team Shine
As the cameras rolled and each team member spoke, I watched from the side.
Phone in hand. Recording. Smiling.
Like a proud mom watching her children graduate, hahaha!
I saw them shine.
And in that moment, I didn’t just feel proud. I felt fulfilled.
Leadership, to me, isn’t about always being in front.
It’s about elevating others so they can take the spotlight with confidence.
Standing for More Than Ourselves
Team V Art is about more than just event hosting.
We stand for professionalism, diversity, and heart-led communication.
Being invited onto an international media platform reminded us that we weren’t just there for ourselves. We were there to show what Malaysian emcees can bring to the world stage.
This appearance on ViuTV marked something bigger than just a media feature.
It marked:
Our first TV studio interview
Our first time interviewed entirely in Cantonese
Our first time representing Malaysian emcees internationally
But more than that... It marked the beginning of a new chapter!
One where we dare to go further, speak louder, and dream bigger.

Thank You, ViuTV, and to the Team That Made It Happen
To ViuTV, thank you for opening your platform to us.
To Sylvia, thank you for your patience and kindness behind the scenes.
And to my amazing team:
Amber, Ada, Charlotte, and Evyn (who wasn’t able to join us this time), thank you for showing up with heart, courage, and excellence.
Here’s to more wonderful journeys ahead.
And to more mics, more lights, and more moments that matter!
